'Finding the Way' - Working with Young People & their families

Presented by Chris-Maree Sultmann, Encompass Family & Community

This workshop consists of several modules delivered over two days. The primary focus is on how to work with young people AND their families to meet the needs of young people with high-risk behaviours. The modules address issues including:

  • how to engage young people and their families in planned work to meet need
  • negotiating the issue of competing 'needs and interests'
  • importance of family to young people even when young people are not living at home (identity & belonging)

The workshop promotes theoretical understandings as a basis for effective work and takes a practical approach in supporting participants to apply the knowledge in their everyday work with young people & their families.

YSC Exit interviews

The YSC Exit interview is designed to capture information with regard to YSC's and YSC managers who are leaving the program as part of a quality assurance process - assisting the YSC Hubs to more accurately target resource and support.
