This information is tailored for school aged young children and young people as well as tertiary students in an aim to raise awareness about the issues of youth housing and homelessness.
The 2001 Census and homelessness data counted that there was about 100,000 Australian homeless on any given night in Australia and that about 1⁄4 of these (25 0000 people) are in Queensland.
In Queensland there are 70 services funded to assist homeless young people through the Supported Accommodation Assistance Program (SAAP). There are also a range of services that assist homeless young people funded through churches and/or other community based initiatives.
